Kingfishers Courting on Hooe Lake

Two Kingfishers throwing off their shyness and concentrating on more arousing matters, unusually oblivious to me. Taken with a digital camera through big Chinese border guard binoculars!

Considering the equipment used that's a pretty good photo!

But you'd better give the big Chinese border guard his binos back - they can be a bit touchy!

Nice photo, as dave said, especially considering the equipment used.

A nice sighting too, perhaps a pair that have wandered down the River Tamar?

See them about all the time on Hooe Lake. They sit on the wall and dive down and catch what I at first thought were fish but surprisingly turn out to be small crabs. I've also seen them hovering about like humming birds. Painfully shy though!
