| | | Re: Bradgate Park Kev Lewis was meant to be going there today. The problem is that the deer area is out of bounds to the general public so you can't get very close to them at all. Kev was being shown around by a warden I believe.

| | | Re: Bradgate Park I went there last Sunday, and there were deer in the main park as well as the out of bounds areas, in the OOBA, you could still get pictures ok if you have a long lens (500mm) and quite often deer would be chased towards you and you can get easy shots.
The backgrounds are good also.
The deer are fairly approachable as they are Park Deer. You can get pictures of the deer in the general Park area with a 400mm lens ok.
Always quite a few people around though, but the deer don`t mind. they see hundreds each day.
If you want directions to the OOBA let me know.

I think I will go. I tend to just go where I like and find that if you walk with conviction people rarely tackle you. I would not want to cause distress to the animals but it sounds like they are quite used to human activity anyway. Will see how I get on.
Cheers
Andrew

Andrew | there are often wardens driving about so you'll have to keep your head down

| | | Re: Bradgate Park I used to go there when I worked up that way and found that your best bet was not to sneak about but to walk purposefully , that way the wardens will assume you have permission.
I found the deer to be quite approachable but you have to be careful not to get too close as they can get a bit stroppy and they are big so and sos

| | | Re: Bradgate Park There are large signs showing the restircted areas, so you will know where the boundrys are.
Like eeyore said don`t creep around, park deer are used to people and will be less wary of you if you make your presence quite obvious, often I`ve found that taking someone with you and talking normally with them is a great method. |
