| | | Best website to put your pictures into your own online portfolio Hi,
Looking for advice as regard the best websites out there that allow you to put your pictures online for free, in what would seem like your own website?.
I am svaing up for a DSLR which hope to have soon but in the mean time I am snapping away with my auto camera and getting some decent results so would like to start building my portfolio now.
Many thanks

| | | Re: Best website to put your pictures into your own online portfolio Flickr seems very popular but I couldn't make much sense of it so I use Pbase now. You do have to pay a small annual charge but I find this tends to sort out the more serious photographers.
But they aren't all fanatical professionals there. More like keen amateurs.
To give you an insight, here are my Pbase galleries crustacean's Photo Galleries at pbase.com and if you click on the top line tabs you can navigate around the site and find whole world or just UK photos to visit.
I did find it a touch complex to start with as, like many sites, they have their own ways of doing things, but that was probably mostly stupidity on my part; and I quickly learnt to how to upload photos and pick individual backgrounds etc. |

| | | Re: Best website to put your pictures into your own online portfolio I'm a big fan of flickr. There is such a big community using it it makes it easy for so many friends, family and people to access you photos.
I find with personal url based websites, the only people that see your photos are people you give the link too! They might look more professional if you're looking to promote your photographic services on a commercial basis; but then if that's the case you'd probably want a bespoke website.
I use photobox pro galleries for selling images (from events and stuff).
I suppose depending on what you want from a website (sharing, selling, promoting) will all have different answers.
whatever you chose - good luck and enjoy! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
