| | | Green Finches under threat Has anyone seen signs of illness in green finches over the last few months? I have had two die over the last two weeks. An article in the BBC Wildlife mag suggest it could be eiither trichomonosis or salmonellosis, both are deadly.
i clean the feeders and water supply on a monthly bases.

| | Re: Green Finches under threat have had 3 in my garden this week, lethargic, fluffed up, trying to eat, it is horrible to see. I wash the feeder station, feeders and water bowl with anti bacteria cleaner regularly have had to remove all food and water for two weeks, does not seem to effect the siskin, chaffinch or goldfinches though. oh the guilt of no food out still for the best |

| | | Re: Green Finches under threat We have lost all our greenfinches (about a dozen) when the conifers out the back were chopped down to about 12' and the lower limbs loped off. In our chicken water feeders I put a few drops off cider vinegar as it supposed to be beneficial, I wonder if its the same for garden birds. |
