I'm off on a short business trip to the Skipton area in a week or so and will hopefully have the best part of a day to go walkabout in the Dales. Its not as much time as I would like but can anyone suggest a couple of sites worth visiting with my camera? I'll be stopping in the Otterburn area...

Not too far up to Malham for the Cove and the limestone pavements, also there's Malham Tarn a little further on. Bolton Abbey area is very picturesque too, with Bolton Priory and nice woodlands, saw a Kingfisher very close to the Strid last time we were there.
If you want something more rugged, maybe drive up to Horton-in-Ribblesdale and have a hike over to Pen-y-Ghent, a fantastic little hill. |

Bolton Abbey is beautiful. Car parking and toilets and cafe's etc available but it does get busy at weekends. Go early. The car park I use is £6 a day.
I and others have seen red kites here. I heard a woodpecker a few weeks ago but didn't see it.
