It is a migrant Hummingbird Hawk although we also have two types of native Bee hawkmoth.

I've only seen one a couple of years back - one local and one at the Red Kite place near Aberystwith.
There's something a bit shrimpish about that back end isn't there?

And the purple emperors were only in the tree tops.
