| | | Ipod Schmipod This weekend I bought myself a storage device - a 20 gig digital player from Premier.
It not only allows you to store your images direct from SD or Compact Flash but also has a 3.5 inch screen to view them on, plays music, video, records audio, has a radio (which you can record from) plays games and has a cradle for desktop mounting and even a remote control.
I have wired it up to my Harman Kardon soundsticks and the audio is quality. It robbed me about the same as you would pay for a 20 gig Ipod, but is so much more versatile. It also came with all the leads etc you need to plug directly into your stereo, TV etc.
I highly rate this piece of kit and would suggest anyone looking at an Ipod to have a look into these.
I also got the 17-85 IS whilst I was at it. Nice

| | | Re: Ipod Schmipod The more I play with this piece of kit the more I love it.
I now have some 1,000 or so songs on it, maybe a gig of images, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction and it really is quick.
I would not even consder an Ipod, now I have this.
It is superb for plugging the Compact Flash into the side of and downloading images onto to free up the card and I can listen to my tunes or the radio whilst out walking with my camera.

| | | Re: Ipod Schmipod I never paid for it, as I had some vouchers, but it was about 250 bar. Fantastic piece of kit and, as I was considering an Ipod anyway, it made alot of sense.

Hows the 400D Matt? | the Ipod was the first on the scene, but now everyone else has caught up.
I had a play with the 400D at lunchtime and was impressed by it. In some ways it's very similar to use to my FZ30 but in other ways it's different. I love the quick and precise autofocus (and that's only on the kit lens). Also the lack of image noise is amazing, even at high ISOs.
I miss being able to review (and enlarge) images through the viewfinder though, that was crucial for really close-up macro. It's impossible to do that on the LCD screen in daylight.
I can't wait to get my big lens though and use the 400D properly...
