Autumn

Hi,I just wanted people's advice as to where would be the best places in England to go for best autumnal colours,preferably the midlands as I live in Leicester.I went to a couple of places last year but was abit disappointed.

Thats an easy one. Check out this section on the Woodland Trust website. It gives a list of their most colourful woods and maps on how to get there.

Hi Kev, you could try a day out or two in both the Forestry Commission - Westonbirt The National Arboretum
Westonbirt Arboretum and then whoosh over drive the scenic drive through the Royal Forest of Dean Tourist Information Official Site Forest Of Dean. not too far for you

Also batsford arboretum at moreton in the marsh - they have the national acer collection so it should be nice an colourful

Thanks for replies,I was thinking about visiting an arboretum this year.I fancy going somewhere with with maples.The ones in my garden keep dying over winter.

in that case definitely give batsford a go Batsford Arboretum - The Nations Favourite Arboretum
