Blown Highlights

Hi All

Thanks for all the tips. Tried out a few this weekend with considerable success.
Made full use of the histogram and the highlight alert (handy tool this) compensated and retook shot as necessary.

The outcome was that I did not have any problems with blown highlights previously experienced. However on converting the raw images I did notice a number of shots with loss of detail in the shadows.

Have ordered a Lastolite reflector which should arrive in time for the weekend, I am optimistic this should help in resolving the issue of loss of detail in the shadows if I can get a bit more light into these areas.

Using RAW Shooter Essentials adjusting Fill Light & Shadow Contrast can recover an amazing amount

Thanks for the tip, will have a go with Raw Essentials Premium.
