| | | Good locations?? Hi all...
I have been trying to find some decent photography locations nearby and I have found it all fruitless, even in an orchard (I'll stop the puns)
I was wondering if anyone had any good locations in the Suffolk area...
you can PM or e-mail me if you want to keep locations to a low number of visitors...
can anyone suggest a good way to find a good location other than traipsing around like gormless oaf staring into bushes and trees with more camera gear than is safe to fit into a backpack.
also are there any good charities other than the RSPB and woodland trust that have sites??
thanks
Will

| | | Re: Good locations?? Have no locations off hand Will, but you're more than welcome to come with me one day on a walk around one of the reserves here. I'm in Norfolk, but close to the Suffolk border, which has a few nice reserves including Redgrave & Lopham Fen (SWT) (My second home ) and Lakenheath Fen. |

too late to bother looking at a calendar to see when my A-levels finish and I am free!!
hopefully then I can head off to RSPB Minsmere, (relatively) near Lowestoft
And next weekend I will try the one remaining Wood on my list and a small meadow I spotted. I hope it is publicly accessible!!
There seem to be more reserves up your way!!
you wouldn't happen to live near Bungay or Earsham, I have a schoolmate that lives near there, I could stay at his!, make a weekend out of it..
anyways, time to let my PC switch off, and check my camera battery has charged.
Thanks again Nick, you seem to come to my aid with replies to most of my useless threads!!
Will

| | | Re: Good locations?? Hiya Will,
Well Bungay isn't 'nearby' but if you can get to your friends and back then I will be happy to come and pick you up on both days and we can make a weekend of it. I think you'd like Redgrave & Lopham Fen- one of the few homes of the Fen Raft Spider in the country. I also see many insects, fungi, flowers and birds. A good all round reserve with different terrains suiting different animal groups. Just makes for a good day out.
I am free most weekends, so be as spontaneous as you like, as of 14th August, as I have a massive amount of things to do until then!
Would be nice to meet a fellow 'Young WABber'
Nick

| | | Re: Good locations?? I see more wildlife while I am sitting in my garden than when I go out with the camera.
I saw a broad bodied chaser today it didn't stay still long enough for me to get a shot but it may come back. |

| | | Re: Good locations?? Hi, I have always found my local wildlife trust sites excellent. If you have the time you can get involved with working parties at sites and site managers are always willing to give tips on what you can see where and when (information you may not get by wondering around the site) I also provide some images for my local trust and again you will tend to find that the information flows both ways.
There are also other forums available, have you tried the naturephotographers.net site? Just an Idea but if you look on the uk forum I am sure their are other members in your area.
Best regards
