| | | Locations near Bempton Cliffs Hi
I've planned a three day trip to Bempton Cliffs in a couple of weeks to hopefully photograph the Gannets and Puffins there. But while in the area is there anywhere else I should visit ? I dont usually venture so far and as its going to be a 6hr drive just wanted to get the most out of it.
Regards

| | | Re: Locations near Bempton Cliffs Well, more up and (even better) down the coast. The bays and cliffs of Flamborough are amazing, check the tides. You don't say what you want to see, the whole area is good but in a slightly unfocussed way. If you say more about what you want to see, then I will have a good think.
If you are looking for the Moors, the Limestone grasslands and many other things it is all there. I have spent time in the Dales, the Lake district, Devon and my best love, Shropshire, but each place takes some getting to know.

| | | Re: Locations near Bempton Cliffs Thanks for the reply Meta.
Im staying just outside Flamborough so will definatly have a good look around there. As too subjects I didnt really have anything other that Seabirds in mind.I found out there are a good number of Tree Sparrows around so look forward to trying for them.
I'm not sure about the chance of upland species like Ring Ouzel, grouse ect
so I'm really open minded, I guess most of my time will be spent around the cliffs.

Barry | I'm a Scarborough-born lad so am clearly going to be biased . . .
what is it you are after Barry? (other than the amazing seabird cliffs, obviously)
if your interests are a bit varied, I could point you to the tallest standing stone in Britain, to a fantastic newly-refurbished museum with internationally important fossils (and human remains) where they will point you to dinosaur footprints . . . ; to excellent botanical sites on the coast / Jurassic limestone / chalk Wolds etc
PS you are a bit out of the way for Ring Ouzel and Grouse unless you head a long way inland
best
Chris
