| | | Re: Watermark What kind of software are you using?
At a very basic level, I think you can use MS Word to create watermark text in a text box as you like (just make sure you set the box fill to transparent or you'll get a giant white box). Then copy it, and paste it on top of whatever image you want to mark. It might take some fiddling to get the size \ colour right using this method, so it doesn't stand out too much but it's simple.
The alternative is to use more powerful photo software, and add text directly on top of your image. You can set the colour of the text to something pale, and often make it semi-transparent so the colour of the image below shows through a little (can def do this in photoshop, I'm sure others can advise on other software). Then you merge \ flatten the layers and you're good to go. Just make sure you save as a different file name or you'll overwrite your original photo! |

| | | Re: Watermark I used to use the Paint application that comes as an accessory with most microsoft operating systems and is easy to use, although a bit time consuming if you are doing more than just a few.
There is also a free, downloadable bit of software called Irfanview, which can do hundreds at a time in just a few seconds once you set it up. |

| | | Re: Watermark Thanks for your advice folks .Thanks Bill, i dont use any editing software at all.It was more of a case for future reference really. I am just getting into digital photography. I was always using a slide film and slr in the past ,after a few years away from photography im gettin back into it now and maybe later ill look at the editing side of things, guess i am used to getting that shot without enhancing etc . By the way ,some of the shots on this site are amazing, are some of them enhanced or are they original shots,or wont you ever be able to tell . Sorry if i sound naive but with a slide what you took was what you were stuck with more or less .
Thanks

| | | Re: Watermark Hello Vic with most Dslrs you have to do some post editing ,wether its cropping ,lighting,,touch of contrast even a touch of sharpening as all cameras leave pics slightly soft .
Yopu alway aim though to get as much as possible near perfect in the original shot first,I know what you are getting at with slide I used to use the Om10 with Kodachromne 64 in the old days and it was fun

Yes I remember film , altho there could be some "messing" about even with slides , some people then started making "slides" from digital files...
