photo compition free to enter!!

calling all wabbers!

below is a link to a wildlife photo compition,its for u.k wildlife only with various catagories to enter and whats more its FREE!!

and from what i understand its nothing complicated,just jpegs to an email address

im sure with the standard of the pics on here that at least one of us stands a chance of winning something,got to be worth entering a few pics.

£500 notes to the charity of your choice is well worth having a go, did I mention the new 'madukan for a canon 28-300L lensfund' charity that I'm now registering

That's a very good point wildlifesnapper, it seems a very good way of getting potentially thousands of images from around the UK free of charge or at the very least on the cheap. While I don't sell images it may irk me somewhat that someone could use my photos for profit and I would get nada. Not that I think I would win but in their wording they could use any image whether they came first or last. What if someone sent in some iconic image that ended up making them thousands. I have never entered photographic competitions before so I don't know if this is usual, I'll have to think about it now

Ok I've thought about it. I don't make money by selling shots so I wont be losing anything anyway, if someone else wants to use them (though I doubt it) then fine. I'll give it a go

id feel i little peeved if a picture of mine went worldwide and i didnt get a penny but id also feel really proud that one of my pictures was thought to be that good

you'd kick yourself if it became their company logo though

be quite an effective scam that... they want a new logo, so the open a competition with that clause in, then choose a picture...

The thing to remember here is that any Pro won't enter, I wouldn't of thought.

To use the final winning entries fine that's why the competition is being run but any entry well I'm thinking twice about entering.

I've just emailed them to tell them how disgraceful this rule is. I suggest everyone do the same and they might realise what an unethical and underhand stipulation this is.

I always read competition rules very carefully and never enter those which have such rules - they are just after free pics for future advertising.
