| | | Re: You have one shot, what would you take!? UK: an adder on a hot sunny day (yet to even see one. I mean the adder not the hot sunny day )
Worldwide: Tanzania - an augur buzzard in flight with Mount Kilimanjaro as the backdrop. |

world: have to go with a manatee swimming free in Florida (have to invest in waterproof camera for that one though!) |

| | | Re: You have one shot, what would you take!? Some great choices so far, the more I read the more difficult my choice becomes, but I'm going to go for:
UK - Bearded tit (RSPB had a shot in their magazine recently that, I think, can't be topped, but I'll try)
World - Javan Rhino (said to be only 50 left in the world) |

Or Kingfishers with fish in mouth in flight (this is actually doable from where I live so I may have a crack at this one this year). It's whether I can trigger the 6.5fps on the 40D at the right time OR Osprey lifting a fish out of the water.
Rest of the world Brown Bear on the Salmon runs, this is just an excuse to get into that wilderness to be honest |

| | | Re: You have one shot, what would you take!? UK --- Golden oriole, or an osprey catching a fish
rest of world --- Phillipine Eagle, catching a monkey or something, you gotta love em.

| | | Re: You have one shot, what would you take!? UK, Dolomedes sp. (it's not difficult to see and photograph, If I went for plantarius I could visit Wicken Fen, fimbriatus I could stay fairly close).
World, I would like to see a Sao Tome Caecilian, it would give me a good speech workout and I do find them quite fascinating.
Just to make the Osprey wisher sick, my daughter did some time as a volunteer at Leighton Moss, she was not bird wise at the time, got up first morning early and went into the big panoramic hide and an Osprey flew across the front, took a fish mid view and off it went. Lucky doesn't touch it.
Also, 2 years ago Christine was going down to catch an early bus to York, 2 otters having a play fight in the river. |

| | | Re: You have one shot, what would you take!? UK- For me it has to be a reed-warbler on a reed, with a gentle breeze, with lovely golden sunrise light, with plenty of space around the bird..
World - Shark, leaping into the air when catching a seal... funnily enough it is in this months BBC Wildlife mag, according to the recent podcast they have released
Disclaimer: I do not suggest the aforementioned publication is superior to any other periodical or journal... Phew should keep the rule makers happy!!

| | | Re: You have one shot, what would you take!? When you sit down to think about the UK shot (right, I did give it more thought than the World one), A huge range of choice goes through your mind. Even common things can be so inspirational, and who goes from Bacteria to Mammals (please no corrections pointing out that it should be blue green algae to something else). I wasn't that struck by the subject of this thread till I started to work at what I really wanted to see. It is a hard choice.
