| | | Birds in flight last summer These are a few shots I took of some birds coming in to land on/taking off from a birdfeeder when I was on holiday in Cornwall last year. The only way I could catch them actually in flight was to sit with the camera focussed on the birdfeeder but with me not actually looking through the viewfinder. That way I could watch for incoming birds and click the shutter just as they were coming into view. I had alot of duds but some of them worked Click on the thumbnails for bigger images. |

| | | Re: Birds in flight last summer Some nice shots, you have there Clairep, its a shame the 1st is so noisey, but still a fantastic shot.
What you may find helps is watching them for about 30-60min if possible and then pre focus the camera to a point they seem to be coming in from.
then just hit the shutter on continus just before the bird reaches that point.
Will still get a few duds, but thats just the norm. |

The first is a crop of the second, I think. You're right though, great image. Blue tits are fast movers and their wings beat a lot faster than gulls, etc and so any photo that captures that rapid movement is quite an achievement.
Lovely collection there, Claire
Thanks for the tips MTraylen. Some I might use...
