What's Great About Britain to you?

This was the challenge in a recent photographic competition that I entered and I got a runner-up prize (£50 of Jessops vouchers)

All the winning photos are going to be on display on bus stops in Regent Street for the next two months. Why, I hear you ask? Well the competition was run by Regent Street Online to promote the Regent Street Festival. You can see the winning entries at Regent Street Online - A Great British Experience Photography Competition.

I have to admit that I think the winning entries summarise most of the things that are Great About Britain. Interesting topic, don't you think?

To anyone who knows me, my entry must be fairly obvious - English Bluebells, of course!

That's a cracker Jenny, well done.

A really worthy winner. One of the best Bluebell shots I've seen.
I never get my shots accepted for any competitions.

Yes, Phoebe, it is in the WAB image library, so you may have seen it before (also in a RSPB competition).

Graham, thanks for not entering any competitions otherwise I would not stand a chance!

Yes, TBB, I always long for spring and the bluebell season. It is all too short. I got a new lens for my 40D at Christmas and hope to get some better bluebell shots this spring. This picture was taken with my little point and shoot.
