BTW, noise levels seem to be slightly higher than average on the FZ30 when viewed full size, anyone used NeatImage or Noise Ninja to clean up images ?? |

mine are almost entirely un touched up as I haven't quite learnt how to play with my software yet!!
Don't look at my images though looks at Matt's his are much better and he's much more experianced than me with that sort of thing! |

BTW, noise levels seem to be slightly higher than average on the FZ30 when viewed full size, anyone used NeatImage or Noise Ninja to clean up images ?? | a lot of those plug ins leave images unacceptably soft and thus do more harm than good, and anyway I have never seen much sign of noise in the FZ30 shots on here, IMO the key to noise reduction (with any camera) is to keep the ISO at 400 or below, which is where the decent lense on the fz30 is a benefit.
BTW Gill is too modest for her own good , her shots are excellent examples of what a good photographer can achieve with an FZ30 , although it is true that Matt's shots are superb to.

| | | Re: Help with camera choice.... I use neat image pro (as it has a PS plug-in) on images shot over 400iso. I normally just use it on the background or continous tone areas to quieten the noise down. I rarely use it on the main subject as it will remove detail as well as noise even if you download the correct profiles for your specific camera.
