Groups in the NorthWest?

Anyone know of any wildlife photography groups in the Stockport/Manchester areas? One that's friendly to beginners would be ideal! Thanks, Julia

Julia, I don't know of a group dedicated to wildlife photography (let me know if you find one!), but there are several camera clubs in the area and no doubt many wildlife enthusiasts amongst their membership.

I've been along to clubs in Stalybridge and Chapel (Hayfield), but I also know of clubs in Bramhall and Didsbury (South Manchester).

The Lancashire and Cheshire Photo Union affiliated clubs list might be a good place to look?

I'm in Swinton, Manchester not a member of any clubs due to work commitments but there a few members of WAB on the forums in our area maybe there should be a Northwest WAB club

I've considered going to the Didsbury club - I barely know which end of the circular clear thing on the camera (a lense or something) to look through though... maybe thats why I should be going...
I'm seriously considering a canon eos 1000d kit, i think maybe i'll get a few days out with it first so i have some genuine questions.

hammock monkey the canon eos 1000d kit looks a really good first camera kit to to me, if you want to meet up and I'll go through a few of the basics with you, or any one else posting here we can sort something out.
Dunham Park is always a good place to have a play with a camera because at least you can always have a deer or two as your subjects

Feel free to PM me, I've not done much wildlife work (chance would be a fine thing) but been using cameras for over 20 years and had work published, shot weddings and at present just done big spend on event kit, so I can help you point your "circular clear thing" in the right direction
