| | | Your website Please can anyone suggest a good website company for showcasing images.
I am looking to produce my own site, have tried Amazing Internet but found their templates too limiting.
Any ideas?

| | | Re: Your website Might be worth having a look at zenfolio, Lots of options on how to display the images size wise etc. Also lots of options to display captions and camera information. Haven't any idea of prices but if I didn't already have my own site established I would give them a try.

| | | Re: Your website Boddie if you are going to spend money why not buy some web space and a domain name and have your own site. Most hosting plans allow you to automaticly install a web Gallery.
I have 3 sites hosted by this company UK Web Hosting Company | UKHost4u™

If you don't mind me asking, what's wrong the the clikpic you've got?

Chris | I'd go with that - I'm currently rewriting mine using serif X2 - I know its not a problem for boddie (as he is fabuously wealthy ) but for normal mortals serif is very nearly as good as dreamweaver for abouth a tenth of the cash.
I'd stay away from the templates tho and just write your own - its fully wysiwyg so no code is required , if you can use a DTP app it is easy. (flash albums built in and allsorts of other goodness)
in terms of getting it up on the net there are loads of ISPs and everyone has a favourite - my recomendation would be either 1and1 or host route
mind you if you are fabuously wealthy the best bet of all is to hire a pro web design company to do it for you - for example amazing internet do bespoke sites as well as their templated versions and google will find loads of others.

| | | Re: Your website I use one 1&1 and they're pretty reliable. They offer lots of free gimmicks to fill your website with but I never use any of them. They support some CGI scripts so you can use formmail to get feedback email to you. Boy, that took me a while to work out. But once I did I was able to put a semi decent ordering system in place using the same method. So far I've had about 40 sales through it and it worked well enough. Then my computer HD broke - bummer.
I was thinking of moving to godaddy. I want to include a searchable database and I think you need to use MySQL - whatever that is! Their prices are cheaper than 1&1 for MySQL databases.
WYSIWYG designers are pretty easy but I found I was doing a little code editing simply because I didn't know what the buttons meant.
