| | | Sigmonster filter problems Hi Guys,
Quick question. My lens came with two filters, one clear and one tinted, I think the tinted is a UV filter? Could this be why my images have been so dark? I stuck the UV one in and forgot about it. Could this also cause more blur???? I know it seems simple to take it out and try it again but its all boxed and ready for a check up
I think theres more to it but I can be a muppet at times too
Best wishes

Kris | Its hard to say without seeing them but i would say that the clear one is probabbly a uv or skylight filter - keep this on all the time to protect the front element - the tinted one is probably a warm up filter , and you can pretty much forget this one most of the time.
I wouldnt imagine that a uv would cause blur or image darkening as it never has on little bigma

Its a rear filter so it won't protect the objective lens. I think im going to go ahead with the check up by a sigma doctor anyway. Oh, the stess of owning a lens |

| | | Re: Sigmonster filter problems I think the tinted one is a polariser, this will reduce the amount of light by 1 or 2 stops typically. The clear one won't affect exposure. Neither filter should have any noticable effect on image quality.
