| | | Analogue photography Is that what it used to be called?
Seems everything else that is now digital used to be analogue.
Anyway, I just persuaded my old chap to not bother taking an analogue camera when he goes New Zealand next year and to get a decent digital - point and shoot if necessary.
I can't imagine running an analogue camera.
Of the 100 or so pics I take on an average session only maybe 6-10 percent are good enough for WAB and maybe only 2 percent for my deviantart Gallery. I guess, given time, I will get more proficient. Still making schoolboy errors. But I am really enjoying my photography at the moment and am so glad to have upgraded to DSLR

But I'm loving it, the hardest thing I'm finding is deleting not quite good enough pictures - I find myself hanging onto them even though I'll never use them! I think it's because that's all I used to get on analogue - they were the best I had!..... |

I took, what I though were some great pictures of pigs today, with a wide angle lens.
They were 90 percent there but not quite. The pigs were really friendly and I dont know if that is normal. One was trying to eat my shoe. I had a great upclose pic but as I said it was not quite there. I will go back next week, weather permitting, and take them some treats

Nope. As soon as I dont like something I bin it. I used to procrastinate but it did my head in so now if its not 100 percent it goes quick fast, never to be seen again

However I still have the best part of 100 rolls to get through, still love looking at slides on the projector though, and the quality of film still out classes that of digital IMHO. That said I probably shoot 90% digital now

I think that's got to be the way to do it...... Mustn't dawdle over it thinking - well that bits good.......
(I already take my laptop out to peruse my photos over lunch when I'm out - I also take out my interactive ID dvd roms to help me if I get stuck on a plant or something - which happens a lot!) |

| | | Re: Analogue photography Thats a good idea.
My works laptop is a bit tired now so I am getting used to using my home computer again. That too is a bit aged - P4 but only 2 gig and 512 of RAM. My Company has a scheme whereby if I want a laptop or computer they buy it, as they have a good deal with Dell, and I pay them back over a year. Sounds like a plan

| | | Re: Analogue photography Although I too am all digital, I did like the magic of the "dark room". That feeling of expectancy, having slipped a seemingly blank piece of paper into the developer and watching your image appear. Should I take it now !!
