Canon and Nikon offer decent entry-level DSLR's, have a look at what they have to offer then combine it with a zoom lens by someone like Sigma or Tamron. Can't see you getting much change out of £500 which ever route you go though unless you go for second-hand. |

You will also need something like a Sigma 70-300 APO for wildlife, which is around £150 (cheapest half decent zoom).

But, if you intend to go further along the photographic road, you may find that these cheaper cameras are too limited for you. In which case, a 'proper' camera with interchangeable lenses will be the best long term bet. If so, I would only say, short term savings tend to work out expensive in the long run. Check out which camera suits you best and get good quality lenses as you can afford them. It can be expensive once the equipment bug bites you but in reality the cost can be spread over several years.
Secondhand equipment is an option, but only if you can be certain of the reason for sale and know that you aren't getting worn out or broken kit. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
