If you are just buying your first DSLR then I would advise you to check out different camera reviews on the internet and visit a camera shop and handle different camera makes such as Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Pentax, which are just some of the brands you can try. The most important part is the lenses, which can range from around £100 to £4000-£6000 for a really good one. There are some members who will swear by Canon, Nikon etc. but at the end of the day it's your choice.
Good Luck
Ron

Ron | I also have the A100 and enjoy using it. Ron's advice is sound "try before you buy" I bought mine as I'd previously had a Minolta zoom with the image stabilisation and when I bought my A100 it was one of very few cameras with image stabilisation in the body as opposed to the lenses.
Hope that helps
