| | | Riparian woodland Hi everyone, This is my first post on this forum. I am interested in filming a Riparian woodland (woodland with a stream/river going through it) setting throughout the seasons but am having problems locating anywhere isolated and quiet preferably in Lincolnshire. Can any of the members advise me on this? |

| | | Re: Riparian woodland I don't know Lincolnshire myself, but have you tried sitting down with an OS map and looking for wee out-of-the-way areas? I spent a summer surveying river habitats in Dumfries and Galloway a few years ago, and I could go days without ever meeting anyone. Just don't stick to the paths! Having said that, do be careful, and consider investing in a life jacket if you're going out on your own a lot. It doesn't take much for rivers to swell quickly, and I had a couple of rather hairy experiences while I was working...
A local fisheries trust might be able to help, as could Forest Enterprise if you contact them.
Hope this is some help

| | | Re: Riparian woodland Good luck with the project. If you lived in Scotland there would be no problem and the life jacket is good advice, many streams rise very, very quickly when it rains. Oh, welcome to WAB. |

| | | Re: Riparian woodland Hi and welcome, as Lincolnshire is largely flat i would imagine that what you're looking for maybe a scarcity, neighbouring counties such as nottinghamshire and yorkshire especially around the Peak District should offer up a few oppertunities. I live in South Yorkshire and visit Lincolnshire quite often and do not now of many Riparian woodlands here. But think that the Rivelin valley could be a possibilty its on the Sheffield / Peak District border.
