| | | Re: Help with Printing Wildlife Photos The main problem I used to face when experimenting with papers and inks not designed to work together, apart from colour variations, was bronzing. The time, effort and cost of setting new print profiles so these combinations would be effective together was too much trouble for the potential savings involved. Also, I found that the cheaper papers and inks gave rise to excessive drying times.

RichBrew | Its not very often that I print anything out. I thought it was all very straightforward but just from reading this thread its obvious that there's much more to it. I thought that you just hit the print button and away you go!
I did wonder why the last photo that I printed came out darker than it appeared on the monitor though. Having read some of the links from this thread I think I know the answer!
Not sure what bronzing is but I can say that my pictures seem to be dry before they hit the paper collection tray. That might be because I use a good quality Epson paper. |

| | | Re: Help with Printing Wildlife Photos Thanks for all your advice guys. There is obviously much more to printing a decent photo than I originally thought there would be.
I am going to give jessops a try first until I get the hang of using my new camera. Once I feel confident using it I may invest in a new printer (a decent one)
I will probably be asking more questions over the next few months.
Im so glad I decided to join this forum. I am usually a little unsure about posting on sites like this!

| | | Re: Help with Printing Wildlife Photos As you just said; if you are going to get a printer, wait and then get a good one. Cheap printers are fine for text and the occasional small size print on cheap paper but if you want high quality lasting prints you will have to spend a bit more. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
