| | | What scope? Hello all .... I have a Fuji FinePix S7000 and want to get a spotting scope for my birding, but would love to kill two birds (not literally, of course!!) with one stone and get one that I can take pics through on my Fuji .... anybody out there got any ideas on what I could get? Any help would be most appreciated! |

hmmmm it's really difficult try asking those at warehouse express (google it and it will come.... )they are very helpful and aware of a range of adaptors - they also have a very good deal on a Nikon fieldscope III which I have and love. I'm afaid often the second bird refuses to be killed and you have to buy a second camera for use with the scope . Common consensus is that the Nikon Coolpix 4500 is best for the job (Warehouse express also has the last of these new - though some crop up on Ebay too)
Good luck! |

The trouble is though that heavy cameras stress the mounting with the scope. I bodged up a support for it. I can send you some pics of how, but it wont do you much good unless you have a metal working workshop to hand.
Allthings considered, although its true that every problem has an engineering solution, in this instance I'd take gills advice and buy a coolpix 4500 while there are still some left. (digital depot had a few too when I last checked)
Scope wise I swear by my kowa - though my opticron mighty midget is ok and nice and portable.

I would agree with Gill...........Warehouse Express are very helpful in these matters. |

Yep ideedeo!! All on warehouse express adaptor rings and everything
I don't work for them or anything honest!! they are just really helpful I find! Prompt service and if they don't have a product that's right for what you want, they'll tell you without hard selling you onto something else which seems like a good thing to me. |

| | | Re: What scope? Ace cameras in Bath brought up all the last nikon 4500's for the sole purpose of supplying them to keen digiscopers......and have masses of experience in this field. They really are well recommended......I purchased my scope from them....and have talked at length ( in person ) about digiscoping with them.....they're cheap too. I recommend them purely because they are a well established company and give excellent, knowledgable free advice. ( Warehouse ex are good too ) |

| | | Re: What scope? I have the Swaro 80STSHD coupled with the CP4500. A very expensive combination as the scope alone cost about £1.400 and that is without the tripod.
Prior to this I owned a Kowa 823 until I dropped it and damaged it beyond repair. As much as I think my scope is great (it should be at that price) there is no way that there is a near £800 difference between the two scopes. The Kowa 823/824 is a brilliant scope IMHO and is well worth the near £650 it would cost to buy (less if you can find a second hand one).
This scope in combination with a CP4500 takes some beating and now that Warehouse Express have a fabulous deal at £299 for a CP4500 that means you can get an excellent digiscoping deal for about a grand (which should include an adapter as well).
Eagle Eye do a good adapter and here is a link to their website. http://www.eagleeyeuk.com/erol2eu/erol.html

| | | Re: What scope? My 60mm Nikon Fieldscope III was around £350, I see they are now £250!!!
Incidentally do you know anyone who's tried the Nikon field image system they've been advertising on there? At £250 it's quite tempting....... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
