| | | Re: Close ups using stacked Tc's I have experimented with my canon 70-300 plus a 12mm tube and a 1.4x converter. This lens won't take a Canon converter on its own. So far I haven't been impressed with the result. Even with the lens set to F16 in good light the results haven't been as sharp as I would like; and at F8 depth of field is very shallow.
I'm getting better results just using a tube then cropping and resizing.
I always use manual focus. Auto focus will work with a tube but the image isn't so sharp. Do you put the tube before or after the converter? With the 70-300 the tube can only go between the converter and lens. Perhaps this is part of the problem, or maybe this lens just isn't suitable for a converter. |
