The bigma is too heavy to walk about with and handhold, the 400mm f5.6 is restrictive and lacks the flexibility of a zoom etc. For me the best lens has got to be the 100-400mm it is fairly light weight, has IS and the image quality is superb. This lens is rarely off the camera these days.
