| | | Re: woodpecker image ? woodpeckers go under general birds i.e. select 'Bird Photography' itself rather than one of the subcategories.

| | | Re: woodpecker image ? No actually he has a point....and im confused...i went off to try and see his woodpecker image....but...2 things.
One...when you upload you have a choice of "image archive" or " Gallery"....but, when you go to browse or view...i cant seem to find an option of which to browse? the normal image archive....or the professional quality " Gallery" ?...what it seems to be letting me browse ( judging by the pic quality) is the Image Archive?...
and then....once in...you can click "bird photography" which then takes you to an option list....tits...finches...waders etc ( as per his original post) but there is no category that woodpeckers fall into to? or no "general birds" option either?...the only non specific option being "rare birds".
So can you tell me where to find "woodpeckers or general birds" and also how you choose to view exclusively the Gallery or the image archive?
Cheers
Dan

Just click on ' Gallery' in the blue menu bar at the top, then you can search for recent photos or a particular name, you can also select 'bird photography' to search all bird pics.
I can't see any recent shots of 'peckers so maybe it hasn't been approved yet. |

| | | Re: woodpecker image ? Ok everyone is stating the obvious...i know all this.
but...unless some rather poor images are getting in the " Gallery" as apposed to the "Image archive" then when browing images the two sections are not split? but then why do you have to choose the split when uploading?

Dan | If I understand the system correctly there are two separate software programs one manages the Gallery the other the Image Archive. As has already been stated if you click the blue Gallery icon at the top of the page you are taken to the main Gallery. If you then click on the image archive icon situated above the recent photo section you will be redirected to the Image Archive where the unidentified, forum images etc are stored. Images are not transferable from one program to the other.

| | | Re: woodpecker image ? My understanding of the system is the same as Gerry Nick2's - the blue ' Gallery' tab takes you to the main Gallery, you then have to click on Image Archive if that's what you want. Both have a search facility, but as far as I'm aware it's not possible to search both galleries at once. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
