| | | Miss of the month? The anglers have "the one that got away" stories.
So what cracking opportunities have passed us by recently?
Mine was a few weeks ago, in the last cold snap.
Left home cursing as there was a half-decent hoar frost and really fancied time to get snap-happy. (You can see ten species of Wiilow in the first mile of the journey, quite picturesque!) So, I was on my daily journey to work (~25 miles of unclassified roads). Up ahead was what looked like a burning log in the field, but was quite hard to discern in the beautiful low sun. As I got within twenty metres or so - a magical image of a Brown Hare on a frozen, bare field, a huge plume of breath, all superbly backlit by the early morning sun. No camera, no time, no love - cruel world.
Darren.

| | | Re: Miss of the month? I thought I'd left myself open to that Dan!
Fifteen years in construction should have taught me better.
(Kate Rusby gets my vote, as it happens.)
Best stop or we'll be exiled from Brown's manse.
(Oh hell, I've done the political as well now.)

| | | Re: Miss of the month? yesterday I was pointing a camera at a heron that just picked up a 2m+ willow twig and waited for it to take off. I briefly loer the camera and it took off and flew out of shot. what made it worse was the twig was dragging accross the water to. Oh well atleast I have to one of it on the ground |

| | | Re: Miss of the month? The one missed shot that really sticks in my mind was when I was out on a wildlife boat in Argyll, and we were watching a sea eagle sat on the shore. i got a few shots, then gave my camera to my boyfriend to have a look at. He was worried about dropping the camera (and being subsequently chucked off the boat) so he wrapped the camera strap round his hand. Right then, the eagle took off and flew right over the boat, so I grabbed the camera and tried to get a shot, but the strap got tangled up and I completely missed it... Would have been a great shot too, I'm sure! |

At last year's Hyde Park Calling festival, Crowded House were joined on stage by a guest singer and I tried for ages to find out who she was (they probably introduced her at the time but I didn't catch the name). Then some months later I spotted a picture of Kate Rusby and thought "that's her!" However, my wife is not entirely convinced so perhaps you gents could help out and either confirm or deny that this is Kate...
Thanks in advance!

If your into folk music she is excellent but then it's not many young people today who are, just we oldies (speaking for myself of course). Mind you I have an extremely wide taste in music, from Pink Floyd, AC/DC to Mozart. The only music I don't really appreciate is jazz and rap. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
