Hi all,I received my Canon 400mm f 5.6 L lens today,It took al ot of persuasion and some heated discussions with my good lady,but I now have it in hand I got it for a great price from a supplier on ebay,, a gentleman to deal with,I recommend. I could not match his prices anywhere in the U.K. I have also with more heated discussion,purchased a monopod today,I hope to put both to good use tomorrow,weather pending I have looked at many many photos taken with this lens,especially from Ollie,and if I get half as decent photos as him,I will be well happy.

It is a great piece of kit. I have never looked back after buying one. Enjoy using it but remember to keep your shutter speed up above 400 by increasing your ISO if necessary. This will keep your images sharp. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots. . .

Nice one. I heard good things about that supplier and I'm off to pick up my Canon 500mm f4 tomorrow

I emailed him direct thus avoided Ebay charges and I think I got a bargain.

Wise choice MeadsMan, it's a cracking lens and I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Got mine from the same source as yours and like you found him a pleasure to deal with and an unbeatable price.

Oooh I've been verging on this lens for ages and ages. Post some pics soon so I can take the plunge. At least you're out of the heat if you're taking pics tomoz, bring her back some lush flowers and a hug.

A very wise choice. You only need to look at Ollie's shots to see the quality of the lens. It's a superb bird in flight lens as well. Why didn't I order one???

The flowers is a great one,I hope I remember that in the morning..or more importantly on the way home

Graham Are you not getting the sigma 300mm f 2.8 zoom now ? I would have liked that lens,but it was out of budget for me,and don`t think the flowers would have helped much either

Yes, I'm just changing suppliers. I cancelled my original order due to their misleading web site. Despite all my careful checking, it wasn't careful enough. I've got to wait for the credit card refund before I can order again, I don't think my Mrs. would be too happy having to pay for two of them.
