It's the spelling police!
On a serious note, I think probably for the same reason it appears in your post, very few bother to amend a simple spelling mistake made at the start of a thread.
I did here: lense advice
and, just to cheer you up, I've done it in this post too.
Cheers.

| | | Re: lense advice Do a little reseach before criticising I think that you will find that 'lens' is the correct spelling of the word and 'lense' is a common error. It might be listed as a variation in some dictionaries, but the only major Dictionary that lists it as correct is Merriam Webster's medical dictionary. All of the rest, it will be under lens, so there you go. Go read up |

| | | Re: lense advice denn, if you are still looking for the bigma checkout fotosense. As far as I can tell they are a sigma outlet (according to sigma website) and at £649 are one of the cheapest. Their shop is in Oldham (not too far) and I am hoping to go there in the near future.

I was on the verge of ordering a Canon 500mm from them until I read their small print. Sure enough they ship from Hong Kong despite their contact address being in Chadwell Heath.
I didn't become suspicious until I checked their delivery times which were 5-7 days. Even then I had to do more searching around the site until I came across the stuff about the customer being liable for the import fees. |

I've just spoken to my Mother and told her to cancel tomorrow. We discussed the abysmal service and we also came to the conclusion that there's only one or two customer services staff creating fake names to reply and send emails with. Some are ridiculous. The owner or at least someone in charge- claims to be named 'Gergely Pap'. Now you go and search that on Google. It's a dodgy arrangement. I don't think we will have trouble refunding as my Mother will be dealing with the situ' and she's pretty good in these scenarios.
The first step is to enquire regarding the postage, and claim this back. I've got it all in email form, so it's covered that they said it. Once I get the postage sorted, then I shall cancel. and go through that pain in the backside process...
I am a passive lad, but I want them to pay for this...
I only hope we get this sorted as soon as possible.
EDIT; I've just checked, and I don't have an email that says anything about reimbursing money for the postage of the wrongly delivered lens I should still get that £20 though somehow? Right? | with all due respect to your mum nick i'd be inclined to hand this one over to your credit card company - tell them to withdraw payment and leave it up to them to kick purely gadgets up the rear and get "their" money back - you in essence pay your credit card company for the added protection so you might as well use it

| | | Re: lense advice It's alright Pete, It's now underhand. I emailed them yesterday about reimbursing my £20 that I paid to send it back, however, no reply...surprise surprise eh? So Mum's going to ring purely[insert any derogatory word you like here].co.uk tomorrow morning tocancel the order and ask about the reimbursement. Then I should think as soon as the order has been cancelled, Mum will phone the credit card company and make sure they get back the money paid.
I'm still tempted to get Trading Standards in on them because this is not on! I know it's the whole 'welcome to the real world' scenario, but how do they get away with it? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
