| | | pembrokshire photo womble Better half has decided he is off on a 4 day course end of Feb. Rather than sit around all on my ownsome all weekend, I've more or less decided to take off on a photography womble on the pembrokeshire coast, just the Friday evening to sun morning.
I know it quite a bit but need some great walks/shots that are not too isolated, (lone female ). I'll probably try and stay somewhere not too far from Tenby as is not too long a drive up and back, but will wander further up for the second day. Looking really for macro flora, birds, birds and birds and seals etc. Anyone have any good suggestions of either walks of staying over places with sea views. thanx

| | | Re: pembrokshire photo womble We usually stay at Saundersfoot, ten minutes drive from Tenby.
A couple of places I can recommend are Wisemans Bridge and Cardigan Island.
Wisemans bridge is a beach with rockpools and plenty of sea birds a few minutes from Saundersfoot.
Cardigan Island is worth a visit. The farmer who owns the land has opened to the public and from the cliff tops you should see dolphins and grey seals. Given the time of year you will need to check his web site to see he is open.Just search for Cardigan Island.
Certainly worth booking a boat trip or two to Skomer,Skokholm or Ramsey.
If you do a web search you will find a wealth of information on places to visit.

Gerry | Thanx mate I've been to cardigan island quite a lot, it's fab and on my list to wander, although I was bitten by an emu there a few years ago, blood everywhere, still scarred
Saundersfoot is where I usually stay, where the badgers are but needing further up. Hmm, may nip over to wisemans bridge one night then actually, was looking at a b and b on the web there and I love rockpools.
I found Little jack sound on the way to skomer very very frightening on a calm summer day let alone during this time of year Saw puffins n stuff (oh those 70s progs still haunt us ) tho think poss no puffins there yet, or am I wrong ? Someone mentioned they do helicopter rides over to the island. Anyone know if this still happens ?
