| | | Re: New Sigma 500mm zoom I actually know someone who has one of those and it is flipping heavy - tho not that much more so than the sigma 800 f4.5
he works for a national newspaper who bought it for him for the "bargain" price of £24,000 - canon dont keep them in stock each has to be built to order.

| | | Re: New Sigma 500mm zoom Does anyone know if there's a rough amount of time that it takes for companies to reveal prices for new lenses? I would have thought it varies hugely, but I'm unsure to be honest. I want to know the price of the new Bigma I honestly do not have a clue how much it might be.
To add to that, how long does it usually take for the newer lenses to be bought up and sold by other online retailers. I could definitely pick up a new 50-500mm for £599, which isn't bad. I do however like the sound of this 150-500mm...so I wonder how long I would have to wait to see a significant price reduction on somewhere like 7dayshop.
Hmm

Hmm | I dont know for sure but i would imagine that they will launch at focus on imaging which is towards the end of feb - after that it generally takes between a month and six weeks for sufficient stock to be arround for discount places to be in the game.
tho that said if it is launched early in the us or japan ebay traders sometimes have grey imports ahead of the uk release date.

Four timjes faster on a static image - much of what is taken by WABers is
not quite so static, so you will still need fast shutter speeds. |

| | | Re: New Sigma 500mm zoom If you go online and really try to find the others, then the best you'll get them at are already discounted prices. I can't imagine this discount will be further dropped. I got my 50-500mm for £595 and i can't imagine you'd find it for much less. Although it is possible to get them for £520 if you're lucky. I nearly got caught out on having to pay import tax on one I was about to buy. Shipped from Hong Kong. So when all added together it came to about £600, which was the same as the Uk price. |

| | | Re: New Sigma 500mm zoom Have been looking at the Bigma myself, although mainly for aviation photography, and wondered where you are getting the above prices. Have only found it for around the £750 mark. Am flying to the states and did think about picking it up there but at around £600 its not worth it. |

| | | Re: New Sigma 500mm zoom I tell you what guys, i will be naming and shaming when I've received the correct Bigma. If my return order comes swiftly with many sincere apologies for the inconvenience, then I might sway, but at the moment, I can easily recommend avoiding one website. I'll reveal that soon though |
