| | | WAB Web site image size I know the web site was redesigned a short time ago and images may be submitted provided they are a minimum of 800pixels wide at 72dpi.
I have tended as far as possible to make my images a minimum of 800 wide and a maximum of 880 wide. This as previously mentioned avoids having to click again on the image.
I note that a lot of images are now substantially bigger and the software permits an initial poorer quality image to screen as it were. After clicking again to see the larger image I think (i.e. just me!) the images are sometimes far too big and cannot be appreciated properly. I really don't see any wisdom in submitting images a great deal bigger than 880-900 pixels wide, I have been guilty in the past but it makes sense to me to submit the "correct" size first time.
Does anyone agree?
Jon

Jon | I agree Jon, and I'm guilty of uploading bigger images than 900 wide, although hardly "substantially bigger".
My re-sizing software's choice of image size for me is slightly larger than WABs, and I'm slowly trying to get to grips with changing the default settings...

| | | Re: WAB Web site image size Unfortunately, we've tried just about everything and whatever we go for we still get complaints from many members who don't know how to resize their images or wanted to show more detail etc. We decided to allow large uploads in the archive that will automatically resize to a maximum 1600x1600.
With many visitors using larger screens than a few years ago, the ordinary view will be a lot larger than 880 (probably 1024 or 1280) within the next year or so.

Stu | Its already like that Stu. Looking at the stats for my site (admittedly not as many hits as WAB), very few are screen size 800. Most are either 1280 or 1024.
