Don't invite me if you what good light and geese

Well this morning looked great the sun showing its face again, got the camera loaded of to the wood in an area, quite populated with finches in hope of getting a few nice Goldie pics. Well I might of guessed it, the sun went in as soon as I got there Real dark in the wood, also every dog walker on the surounding estates had let there dogs lose, to run uncontrolled through the wood. So if you don't want dark grey skys keep away from me.
I did not stop I had a recky around a couple of other haunts,I managed some how to get my first action shots, flying geese with the Canon. I hope no one saw me as I was fumbling with the camera like someone demented trying to adjust the settings, in what seemed like milli seconds
Regards
Colin

Re: Don't invite me if you what good light and geese

Colin, persistance will pay dividends, eventually! I used to get very negative when the weather was not favourable but now I try to look at things differently and often photograph close-ups or woodland scenes, flowing water etc. This helps as you actually come home with some images worth while. It makes the days when everything goes perfectly that bit more special because you know how many days you've waited to get the good shots. It's kind of like when your on holiday and you think 'wouldn't it be nice to be on holiday all the time'. Then it would not be a holiday at all. Hope this actually makes sense.
Peter

It does make sense Peter. Time is never waisted with nature. If you're unable to take pictures you can always look and learn and you never know what will turn up!

It was the same for me Mark. We set out with blue skies, which for every mile we went changed to al lovely shade of grey.

Look what I was forced to take a shot of!

That was all I got all day.

Re: Don't invite me if you what good light and geese

Today looked a great day, but no photograpy, up at the crack of dawn then on the coach off to Stamford to watch my youngest son play rugby in a cup match something else, I real enjoy. On the way we passed through some great country side and spotted loads of wildlife all in all a good Day
