Enjoy England - photo competition

There is currently a Photos of England competition being run on the Enjoy England web site (the official website for tourism in England).

The prize is £1000 and there are some wonderful entries on there already. I won't say which mine is as I'm a little embarrassed now since I looked through everyone else's work, but don't let that put you off!

I have seen some people's photographs on this site and think they have an excellent chance of winning.

You're welcome k9. Brings back childhood memories of Doctor Who with Tom Baker when I see your name!

Did you submit a photo? I'm still undecided. Might hold off until I go down to Norfolk next month. Hoping to get some good wildlife shots. I'm only an amateur but find it so therapeutic taking photos wherever I go.

if i ever take a photo that im happy with (bit of a perfectionist, using lower end equipment due to familial commitments eg baby due in 12 weeks) i may just submit it...

I took a look, but the terms and conditions state:

2. The winner will be drawn at random within 4 weeks of the closing date.

Not sure how much of a photo competition it is!

number 13 also says that english law applies, which means that "chosen at random" cannot be used

the reason being that as gambling is illegal and we are providing photos that under those terms can be used for publicity, and we ourselves can be used for publicity we are providing a wager or a physical cost to ourselves, thus it must be a game of skill, not chance to be acceptable under english law.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Competition or lottery, though, it doesn't cost anything to enter, so nowt to lose
