Sell the kids, hire the wife out, remortgage the house... do what ever it takes and buy 'L' glassware. There is no alternative  btw remortgaging the house is about right for the 600mm f4 or 400mm f2.8 lol

I think the Sigma EX range has a lot to offer, the 150mm macro is outstandingly good and I seriously considered the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 but the Canon won simply because of weight. The problem is there's no turning back once you've seen the difference between consumer and pro glass.
I just need something to cover the wide end now and I'll be happy (for a while at least) with 3 lenses plus a 1.4x tc for the occasional extra reach. |

I had the chance to borrow a Canon 400mm L F4 from Digi (Come back...your sorely missed!!)
And I have to admit it was a superb lens..hardly had a bad shot out of it..Although I like my Bigma, I've not managed the quality (yet!) of that L glass. |

I havent managed to afford any L glass yet but I hired the 300 f2.8 last year and it was one nice bit of kit
5D or L glass hmmm..... that is the question
