| | | Exif data I am trying to look at exif data on some pictures but am failing, can anyone help. I have downloaded Exif reader but when I look at a picture in full size I do not get the option to view the data. I am silver but not a wizard on computers.

Some on the WAB site have had exif stripped by their owner and sometimes the site strips it on some images. We know not why? |

| | | Re: Exif data One point, if the option is there to view the image in larger detail, i.e. to click on the image, do that first, then check for the EXIF data. It won't show on the screen display if the image uploaded is larger than that.
This latest software seems to have solved the EXIF data problem, all my recent ones have uploaded with the data intact.
As we're not purely a photography site, we don't put too much store on the information, we don't care if it's there or not! |

| | | Re: Exif data Thanks for the reply Graham. Is it OK for me too look at some of your pictures in the gallery and see if I can access the exif data. A few months ago when I was viewing nearly all the pictures seemed to have the data and I found it quite useful to see what lenses people were using.

Vince | Hi Vince, are you confusing exif data with the info that used to be displayed on the old gallery, beneath the image, which mentioned camera model, lens etc?
Exif data displays the camera model and settings etc but doesnt usually mention the lens used, only the focal length the lens was set to when the image was shot.

| | | Re: Exif data Boddie I was looking at random pictures from different galleries, so I was hoping some would have the information.
Mark h, I did look at the information that used to be displayed with each picture and found that valuable, however, I thought the exif data might just give me some better hints.
I realise the site is not for too technical issues but I just thought this information might help me further with my photography. However, as usual I have learned quite a lot from all your replies. Many thanks.

Vince | Yes of course. Any images in the gallery are there for anyone to get whatever they can from them.
Unfortunately all the camera info that used to be in the old gallery was lost when they were transferred over to the new one, but the EXIF info should be there, at least for some of them!
