| | | My New Camera I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A FUJIFINEPIX S5700. THIS IS MY FIRST FORAY INTO COMPACT DSLR. I USE A MINOLTA DYNAX 300si WHEN I AM OUT IN THE FIELD AND THOUGHT THAT THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO MY ARMOURY. ANY USEFUL HINTS OR TIPS ON USING THE S5700 WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

| | | Re: My New Camera I have the Fuji S550, I have used it to take family shots, plus for pics on my website and in the field for falconry pics. I pick an auto mode to match whatever I think suits the conditions. And I think its took some nice pictures.
I really like my Fuji its a reliable robust Camera. Hope it goes well for you and you enjoy using it.

Colin | Yep, where are they? I really miss fresh cold frosty mornings.
I remember a few years ago we were being told we've had the last of really wet weather, our Rivers were all dried up and the water table had dropped so low it couldn't recover.
What a load of old cods wallop! I can't now take any "expert" pronouncements on weather and weather trends seriously. The truth is we simply don't know what's going to happen next.
One day the sun will shine..hopefully by the 1st. February whilst I'm at centre Parcs! |

| | | Re: My New Camera From what I understand, we can blame it on La Niņa: a climate phenomenon affecting much of the globe. This is in contrast to El Niņo, which heats the equatorial Pacific seas, and is the more well-know opposite. La Niņa is being blamed for last summer's weather turmoil and current flooding.
There, I've said it.

February whilst I'm at centre Parcs! | I can remember waking up in the mornings in the distant past with a layer of ice on the inside of my bedroom windows, and frost that hard and thick it was almost like there was a covering of snow. I hope you get the weather to enjoy centre parcs, theres always the inside tropical area with pool. Not sure there will be much inside to focus you're bigma on you could end up arested
