| | | Re: Just sold my first photo! Dave, I've been with Picture Nature for 6 months or so. I've dealt with the owner/director personally and she is very friendly and helpfull. They take wildlife, landscape and environment type pictures and manage the rights(non exclusively). The commission is 60/40 in favour of the photographer which is very good!
Seems you need lots of photos and/or have to just wait for the right buyer to come along. I guess that's the same with all the agencies though.
I've recently submitted images to the RSPB image agency for consideration of becoming a contributor to that. They want 100 pics every 2 months though and i'm not sure i'd be able to keep up! Still waiting for a reply though....yawn!

| | | Re: Just sold my first photo! that seems to be the issue with the larger libraries really - the number of photos required really does limit the clientelle to pros or very very keen amateurs. I use PD too, largely because there's nothing to lose from not using them really, but haven't sold through them. My PF is pretty small though, so I'm not surprised
My plan for the new year is to investigate some more stock libraries a bit more thoroughly and hopefully have enough images to push the sales a bit harder. So if anyone knows any good libraries that they have used and can recommend it would be interesting to hear. |

| | Re: Just sold my first photo! Loved the bird photos, especially the Avocet and the Mute Swan framed under the bridge at the weir. I am hoping to pop down to the Exe Marshes next week for a bot of Avocet watching.
