New "Moving Image" section?

I noticed that there wasn't a section on the Forum specifically for Video Cameras / Camcorders / CCTV, and wondered whether it might be nice to have one. Really just so that these posts don't get mixed up in the general "photography" section.

Now that you can buy a camcorder for as little as £120, there must be a lot of people who have questions relating to wildlife filming, equipment, etc. Maybe some people are thinking of buying camcorders and aren't sure what to do next.

It could also include all the people who have nest box cameras.... of which I am sure there are loads on this forum.

Wondered what other people thought?

Sounds a good idea to me Jane, with the popularity of nestbox cams,Hedgehog cams etc lately.

It's something that is being looked at. The site has only just recently moved to a larger server to allow for larger uploads, so video is a possibility in the future.

TBR. I need advice too.... lots of it!

Glsammy. Great news about the server, maybe in the future we will have a "video gallery", but in the meantime would it be possible to have a section on the forum for us "video freaks" to bat around ideas and questions (purely in written format)?

I like the idea of being able to upload video footage. I read and digested that it's hopefully in the pipeline, and this is good news. Lots of possibilities here; Tutorials on how to use kit, tutorials on techniques, mini wildlife films, CCTV, but I'd use it to video specifics when foraying for fungi I'd love to film some of my fungi adventures. That way, it could be good for ID, good to show people terrains and habitats and good for people just generally interested.

It would be a fantastic addition and I hope we manage to get something sorted
