| | | Re: sigma 50-500 heads up I have to agree with Oy. A friend of mine has recently changed from a 170-500 to the 50-500m and he is amazed at the difference, both in the sharpness and the speed of focusing. |

This week I tested my 50-500mm against a froends Nikon 80-400mm VR - a lens that's supposed to be better and costs about £300 more.
The Bigma at 400mm gave AT LEAST as good results as the Nikon at 400mm - with VR ON!

| | | Re: sigma 50-500 heads up I tested my little bigma against a Canon 100-400 IS and found that it offered comparable results at 400mm too
Mind you I have found the 170-500 to be soft at the edges wide open when used on a full frame camera, but this is no issue on a cropped sensor such as the 20D because the sensor can't see those bits of the lens.
