| | | Best Online stores? I am based in London UK, not a professional photographer but not bad though.... I have been using Internet for shopping most of the time,,, and now when i feel the need to update my camera from Yashica to a better brand though the one i have been using is not that bad, still,,,,,, I tried pricerunner.co.uk kelko.co.uk and some other price comparison sites, on checking some good stores in UK online through kelko e.g., i compared the price of an article manualy with one in a US store, the price in US store was quoted without VAT,shipping cost, and lense cost, I need to know if the prices in US are better then UK,,, or it effect the same with the inclusion of all excluded factors above.??Thank You |

There are some online stores in the US that will ship to the UK but by the time you've added shipping costs and import tax (which can be very high) the savings aren't much plus you can have problems with your warranty.
What are you after exactly? I'm pretty well up on the best places for Canon gear and I expect some of the other members could help with other brands. |

I've purchased goods from Hong Kong, and saved a fair bit.. So long as your aware of warranty implications, as well as import duties and VAT. For instance, my Sigma lens was bought this way. I paid £550 all in including taxes and VAT, compared to the best UK price I could find of £720. I even got a four year warranty. I had to return the lens to Sigma for repair almost immediately, there was no problem with them because it came from Hong Kong, although I had to prove I'd paid the import duties.
It's much the same when buying from the US.. Manufacturers don't like you buying that way, but they can't stop you! So long as your aware of that Manufacturers stance on warranty. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
