| | | Coasty goes digital Well it had to happen. I will soon be the owner of a digital camera after years happily using 35mm. In Zeniths.Practikas , minoltas and various others... I shall be trying this new fangled technology and letting you hyper critics judge the results,,,,

| | | Re: Coasty gos digital Coasty, you really will enjoy digital.
I went down the same route starting with a Zenith then moving on to Minoltas and only went digital last year when I bought the Sony Alpha 100. I would probably have bought into Canon or Nikon but I had lots of Minolta lenses I could use so didn't see the point in not using them.
Never regretted it. The ability to scrub any duff shots is a god send. |

| | | Re: Coasty gos digital It's the only way Coasty - what kit are you getting?
I started with an old Practika and a 400mm Tamron lens some 30 years ago but the digital age has brought soooooo many improvements.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work

| | | Re: Coasty gos digital Well Guys I have got a panasonic lumix with 12x leica zoom,,, I didnt want to go down the DSLR route as to be honest I am just not that keen anymore... But recently I have had some cracking photo opportunities when fly fishing or out with the dog, For years I have carried a Rollei 35TE everywhere and its a lovely small camera and have often thought I should have had my SLR with me but what with the fishing gear and binoculars I always carry didnt really want to carry the weight. The rollei shutter started to sound odd so traded it in,,,Anyway will find out what these new fangled gizmos will do .......
Anyway it will save sending of those films... Wonder what it will be like for black and white landscapes? Love taking them..

| | | Re: Coasty goes digital I`m sure you`ll be happy with it Andy, most of the FZ series are excellent cameras. I think Cazzie uses the fz8 so a look at her Gallery will show you what sort of shots to expect
