New Backpak

After reading the threads on similar subjects I thought I would be better making one more specific.

I need a new backpack for me gear. Essentials are that it is shower/waterproof, can handle being left on snow for hours. Can carry 2 bodies, one of which attached to a 100-400mm lens, a tripod, all the usuals (cards, batteries, sandwiches) and perhaps a laptop, although this is not a priority.

Ideally I would like it to be a Lowepro or Tamrac. Particular models that have caught my eye are Tamrac's Expedition 7, Cyberpack 8 and Lowepro's Nature Trekker AW II, Dryzone 100.

Any feedback would be excellent.

I use the Tamrac Expedition and it is fantastic. I use it to carry two bodies, one connected to a 100-400mm lens, a 28-135mm lens, an 18-55mm lens, a 70-300mm lens and a flash gun. Along with that I have all the other bits and bobs. I also carry a Lowepro Orion Trekker. Both have been superb. They are comfortable, which is paramount and although I do not need to carry the Tamrac over large distances (certainly with all the equip that is in there) I feel I could as it distributes the weight superbly. As for durabilty, they have both been out in all weathers, they have been dropped and generally abused (accidently of course) but I have not had a problem with damage nor has water got into either. . . both great bags

Hi Chris

You might want to check out the new('ish)LowePro Vertex range as well - I use the Vertex 100 but you may need one of the larger models.
