| | | Young Fallow Deer Thought I would post a pic taken earlier this year. This was submitted as part of a Professional Photography Diploma where it was rated quite highly. Would be interested in others views as I find it difficult to critique my own work.

| | | Re: Young Fallow Deer Hiya,
nice shot. If I had to nitpick I would say if the deer was slightly to the right more as opposed to being central.
neil
But having another look I think I like it central - it's a close call - can't deside now !!!
Still a nice shot whatever

| | | Re: Young Fallow Deer Hello Chris, nice shot like neil says its a bit central and there is a lot of wasted space around it could have done with being cropped down a bit and if you were to take some from the left and work the crop so that the crop put the head on an intersection on the rule of thirds it would be a much stronger image.
Otherwise its a nice image well done

| | | Re: Young Fallow Deer Hi Chris, I won't critique it as such, just tell you why I like it. The deer is in the shade but you have still retained the colours of the animal nicely. I like how it goes from dark green (the shade) to light green where the sun is obviously out. The background is nicely muted so as not to distract from the deer, but still allows us a sense of the habitat of the animal.

I think you did well to expose correctly for the deer with such a constrast of light and shade in the background. I like the picture the way it is with the deer shown in its natural environment.
