| | Huge Canon 300d favour, please! Could anyone please loan me a copy of the 300d software that comes with the camera, please?
My "new" camera has come, and there's no software, which means I can't download the pics.....
I'll cover P&P!
Thanks very much

| | | Re: Huge Canon 300d favour, please! I'm not even sure you get any downloading software with that camera. I could of course be wrong, but I didn't get any with my 20D. The more you spend, the less you get!
As Big Bill said, a simple card reader is all you need. |

| | | Re: Huge Canon 300d favour, please! I think I had a disk with my canon 400d but have never used it. I pop the cable into the usb port and the pc picks up the camera and finds/loads the content; I use photoshop then to make any adjustments.

| | | Re: Huge Canon 300d favour, please! I have a 30D plus two cd roms - Software instructions; and EOS Digital Solutions disc containing Zoom Browser, Digital Photo Professional (for RAW conversion etc) EOS Utility 1.0, Photostitch 3.1 plus drivers.
If you think these are OK for your camera (perhaps someone might be able to advise), I will see what can be done.

| | | Re: Huge Canon 300d favour, please! as a previous eos 300d user i can confirm that you dont need any software to download the photos - either a card reader or a camera to USB cord is all that you need ( I recomend the card reader as in camera downloading shortens the life of the camera - readers are under a tenner in jessops/tesco etc)
the only time you need software is if you are shooting raw - which i wouldnt reccomend with a 300d as the buffering and burst just cant cope with the file size.
ergo if you shoot jpeg the only software you need is a photo editor and you can download something like gimp or irfanview free from the tinterweb
That said I have the software that came with mine so if you pm me an address i'll hapily send it on if you want it - dont worry bout p+p a jiffy bag with 2 cds wont cost a lot - i'll even stick in a 30 day trial of photoshop elements that i have kicking about. - only thing is I am on holiday from tommorow for a week so you may have to wait a little while.

| | | Re: Huge Canon 300d favour, please! Tried connecting the camera via USB last night, and the lap top wouldn't recognise it, and the proper PC (which was around with Raquel Welch in 1billion yrs BC!!) would recognise it, but not read it - having said that, it was all in Raw (Eeyore, you're right, it is a long write time!).
I do have ZoomBrowser from with my compact digi, but that doesn't like the 300d - won't recognise it, which is why I made the request for the software - never thought about using a card reader!
If I have zoombrowser, can I download Raw via a reader and then edit using the Canon Raw manipulator?
Cheers
