Red Deer in Essex

Can anybody help. . . I would like to know if anyone has any knowledge of any Red Deer in the Essex area. I would love to grab some photos of them and do a little practice stalking (with camera only) before I go on a trip to Exmoor to do the same thing. I have been told there may be some in Epping Forest. I have already found and photographed Fallow Deer around the Brentwood area but Red Deer would be fantastic. I have a real passion for photographing these beasts and would like to pratice locally......Many thanks

theres Red Deer in a pen at Bedfords if you just want to see how they behave etc. Therea re also wild ones there too but if only seen them twice in over 100 visits!

The largest red wild Red Deer her outside Scotland is in the Dunwich-Minsmere area and they are usually fairly easy to see though
truly wild so a bit skittish. The males apparently go South and inland after the rut so they are less easy to see now.

Thanks Guys. I have telehoned the ranger service in Epping and apparently there are some there. I am going to meet him next Thursday and get his advice on photographing them....
