| | | Career in wildlife Hi
As some of you know ive posted a post about the best digi cam to start with. And if you read my post you will see that with my experience with manta those manta ray ive always wanted to get a career in wildlife filming and photography. Now at 14 some people may find this hard to believe but ive already stated getting ready for a career in wildlife preferably filming but also photography, im learning all i can about biology different animals where they come from and lots of other things from books, internet, etc etc.
Now i ive been given a letter telling me about my subject choises coming up i need to know what subjects do i need? obviously science, geography will help, english? for minor things? please let me know and i will be grateful.
Thanks |

Something to remember though with photography/filming wildlife is that theres no substitute for experience in the field - learning how to get close to animals to film them, studying their habits etc. You can only learn so much from books.
Several pro photographers do day courses/one to one tuition which although not cheap would be a very good start. Not only do they teach you the photography side of things but they`ll also be able to help with fieldcraft too.
In the meantime the best advice I can give is once you get your new camera get outdoors as much as possible and practice

| | | Re: Career in wildlife Thanks for the advice i guess i made a good start today singleton park with my mothers camara and really close up photos of em eating playing etc etc sadly she lost the USB cable Oh and by the way when i meant ive been learning i meant ive been learning about animals not how to photograph them. My best trick for getting close is leaving food out then sitting not so far away and waiting.
Thanks for the advice. Any more replies are welcome |

| | | Re: Career in wildlife I think it's great that you have a career path lined up that you want to take. If you are passionate enough about it then you WILL make it. Good luck to you. Get some sound qualifications behind you, maths/English and a science subject are good door openers and a mature and determined attitude will be your key.
Hope to be seeing your pictures and documentaries in the future...just remember me when you're a top wildlife photographer!
